the happy voter

I voted today. I was allowed to vote, even though I do not have a Y chromasome. While I was in line to vote, nobody threatened me or my family if I did not vote the way they wanted. Nobody bombed the polling station. Nobody murdered me for excercising my democratic right to choose an elected representative.

My Government may not be perfect, but if enough of my fellows Brits agree we can get rid of it and choose another. We are allowed to talk about how our Government is not perfect, out loud to other people, without getting arrested or "disappeared" My Government will not murder me or my family for disagreeing with it.

Today's vote was for local councils and the European Parliament, the next vote will be for a new Government. Please, even if some of them are complete idiots, vote.

Backs and a new chapter

I've gone and put my stupid back out again.  I really don't have time for this nonsense. *sigh*

However, I have chapter three of 'So Strange Across the Border' done. Just to remind anyone who wants to read this, things may change before I finish. I'm only putting it up on my fic journal for my own motivational purposes. When it's complete I'll chuck it around a bit.

So Strange Across the Border - Chapter Three.

Straight on ‘til Morning

By: siggy

Rating: NC17 for salty language, blood, and a smidge of Jolly Rogering

Category: Angst, insanity, death and questionable beverages on the starboard bow.

Shipmates: Sam/Teal’c. Janet/Daniel.

Warning: Some well loved crew are already in Davy Jones’ locker as this story starts; more will follow. Abandon ship if that’s not your cup of rum

Note: In this story, none of the events after ‘Grace’ happened. No Pete; no Lost City; nothing. We’ve ditched the compass in the briny and we’re sailing blind.

Mary Gauthier - Falling Out Of Love

I've fallen in love with this woman. I apologise for the teeny jumpy bit at the begining but its worth it to hear a bloody awesome live version of this song.

Go, Rowena, go!

I recently purchased Jean M Auel's Earth's Children series on audio book. It's years since I read these epic novels of life and love in prehistoric times. I'd quite forgotten how much bonking there is in these books. Now if you buy abridged novels then they cut the bonking out, my versions are unabridged ,so I get  the squishy bits in all their glory.

One of the books "The Valley of Horses" is read buy a lady called Rowena Cooper. Who unfortunately sounds like your local librarian, and to hear her gushing about moist folds and welcomng depths, never mind proud manhoods and prehistoric felatio, well she has kept me in stitches for days. Honestly you should give this out to morose people it could change their lives, or at the very least give them a really well deserved giggle.

Now I must go, I think Rowena's about to mention swollen nubs.
